Overview

M&H Valve is seeking a Foundry Clean-up Laborer in Anniston Alabama.

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for clean-up and general labor on the production floor in a green sand foundry.

Pay: $21.72 per hour

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the production areas.
  • Uses a push broom, sweeps dust and debris from assigned areas and discards into receptacle bins.
  • Shovels sand onto belts and from floor to an elevated bin. May also remove buckets full of sand from the work areas.
  • Operate tow motor, skid steer, sweeper and related moving equipment to transport waste and product.
  • Notifies supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage.
  • Clears equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next assignment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
  • Works safely, follows safety rules, and assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma/GED preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able obtain certifications to drive motorized equipment

 

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

Reasoning Ability                                             

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete    variables in standardized situations.
