  • Overview

    M & H Valve Company is seeking an Product Line Supervisor for its Anniston, Alabama manufacturing facility. The candidate for this position will be required to use supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in assembling parts or assemblies into units by performing the following duties.  Primary responsibility is for assembly operations, planning/scheduling, and fills in as needed on machining responsibilities. Knowledge of Foundry scheduling and determines what items are needed.  Responsible for ordering items through Microsoft AX and setting order quantities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but is not limited to the following:

    Supervises day to day operations of RSGV Assembly/Test, Powder Coat Operations and coordinates scheduling activities for the Foundry on required items for RSGV.


    • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
    • Schedules machining operations needs to meet production requirements and powder coating operations
    • Responsible to ensure production packets are planned, released, and printed to the required department
    • Responsible for performing cycle counts and submitting changes to ensure inventory is accurate in all warehouses
    • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
    • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
    • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
    • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems to ensure quality and quantity standards are met.
    • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    • Maintains time and production records.
    • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
    • Responsible for coordinating with Quality Control on processing returned material related to responsible product line
    • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
    • Maintain established stocking plans requirements on finished and rough parts for assigned product line. Makes suggestions when needed on raising or lowering requirements.
    • Responsible for all safety requirements within RSGV/Powder coat, individual safety briefings, monthly safety meetings, inspections, lockout/tagout, lockout/tagout annual reviews and below the hook lifting devices.



    Directly supervises "10 to 15" employees in the Assembly Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Post high school education and related work experience are significant background qualifications for a candidate seeking this position. The Company is especially interested in candidates, who have a degree from a four (4) year college or university. Another significant qualification is previous work experience in a supervisory/planning position over assembly and machining operations. The minimum qualifications for this position is a high school diploma with a strong preference for candidates with two (2) years of post-high school education and eight (8) to ten (10) years of related work experience in manufacturing operations.



    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.



    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



    To perform this job successful an individual should have knowledge of inventory software, manufacturing software, Excel and Word Processing software.
