M & H Valve Company is seeking a Technical Product Representative for its Anniston, AL manufacturing facility reporting to the Inside Sales Manager.

Provide sales product support for sales to distributors, direct accounts, and industrial establishments via computer, phone, and fax by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with plant staff to assist in daily sales’ functions.
  • Work closely with engineering to assist sales and plant staff.
  • Develop product knowledge to assist in troubleshooting with customers, end-users, and outside sales.
  • Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales through distribution channels.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of product literature and website data.
  • Basic knowledge of inside sales’ daily functions.
  • Work with plant staff and sales management to help determine stocking levels.
  • Work closely with plant staff to determine sales delivery schedules.
  • Develop market-specific product knowledge and the ability to assist and perform product training.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.

 Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus college-level courses required. Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to carry out product discussions, training, and other public speaking-type functions. Ability to clearly convey and carry out conversations via person-to-person, phone, email, and web settings. Ability to concisely relay information to and from plant staff, engineering and the sales department.

 Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and other basic mathematical functions.

 Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to reason with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to excel at time management and efficiency.


Computer Skills

A candidate should possess the ability to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. They should also possess the ability to utilize Adobe and basic internet functions.

 Physical Demands

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee will also spend time daily in a manufacturing facility.


  •  Must first be qualified as a General Maintenance Journeyman; i.e., have completed a two year apprenticeship program, received a degree in Industrial Technology, or furnish verifiable proof of two years’ experience as General Maintenance with another Company.
  • Conveyor belt & high frequency shaker unit experience.
  • Must be journeyman millwright qualified.
